High Frequency Working Principle
High Frequency (HF) technology is widely used in material processing, especially for welding, sealing, and cutting plastics, films, fabrics, and rubber materials. It works by using electromagnetic high-frequency oscillations to heat the material, achieving the desired effect of bonding or cutting. Below is a detailed explanation of the working principle of high frequency:
High Frequency Current Generation
The high-frequency equipment generates high-frequency currents (typically 27.12 MHz or 40.68 MHz, etc.) for the heating process. This high-frequency current is emitted through electrodes and transmitted through the molecules of the material.
Electric Field Effect
High-frequency current creates a strong electric field between two electrodes. When the material is placed in this electric field, the polar molecules (such as water molecules) inside the material are influenced by the electric field and begin to vibrate rapidly, generating heat. This heat softens or melts the material at the required spot.
Heating Effect
The energy from the high-frequency current propagates through the material's surface, generating heat. For thermoplastic materials, this heating action causes the material to melt locally, resulting in welding, sealing, or cutting at the specific area. For example, the contact points between plastic films can be heated and melted through high-frequency currents to create a strong welded joint.
Rapid and Precise Local Heating
A major feature of high-frequency heating is its ability to rapidly heat localized areas of the material, without affecting the rest of the material's temperature. This precise heating method ensures that other parts of the material are not overheated, maintaining its overall properties and appearance.
Concentrated Heat and Fast Cooling
After high-frequency welding or sealing, the welded area rapidly cools and solidifies. Due to the concentrated nature of high-frequency heating, the cooling process is also very fast, enabling the welding or cutting to be completed in a very short period of time, significantly improving production efficiency.
